  • Dear World Open Photo Shoot

    Time: 9am-3pm

    Location: Marietta Campus Student Center Ballroom

    Back by popular demand, the 2017 KSU Week of Welcome Team is pleased to bring back the Dear World experience to Owl Country! Dear World travels around the world to hear peoples’ stories and take portraits that unite people in their distinct message-on-skin style. Their work has been published in over 30 countries and has been featured on the Today Show, CNN, PBS and in the New York Times, Washington Post and Inc. magazine. Leading up to WOW reflect on what you might share in your photo -- a message to someone or express something you care about. We can’t wait to hear the story behind your portrait!

    • Student Involvement Fair: Club Sports & Student Orgs

      Time: 10am-2pm

      Location: Marietta Campus Walkway by Stinger’s Dining Hall
      Rain location: Marietta Campus Rec Center Indoor Basketball Courts

      Meet Club Sports leaders and watch demos of the various Club Sports teams from 10-2pm!

      Chat with Student Organization leaders from 11-1pm to find out which Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) align with your interests!

      Join us as a yoga instructor takes you through 3-5 poses to help maximize your technique. Look for the OwlFit tent on the Campus Green!

      The Departments of Sports & Recreation, Student Activities, and Health Promotion & Wellness will also be present to discuss programs and events with which you can get involved!

      Don’t forget to bring your Student ID Card to get sweet treats and other freebies!

      • New Owl Welcome (N.O.W.)

        Time: 10am-2pm

        Location: Marietta Campus

        First-Year and Transfer students who attended Express Ignition orientations are encouraged to attend a N.O.W. Event. The New Owl Welcome is free and includes campus tours, opportunities to learn about student engagement, and a Student Involvement Fair which showcases KSU's student organizations, activities, and campus resources. Extend your orientation experience and come find out how to get involved on campus!

        • Rise Against Hunger Service Project

          Time: 1pm-2:30pm

          Location:  Kennesaw Campus Student Center University Rooms

          To be a KSU Owl is to serve!  Join your fellow KSU Owls in this fun, hands-on service project as we address international hunger by packaging over 17,000 meals that will be sent to school feeding programs and crisis relief in developing countries around the world.  This project will also introduce you to KSU's office of Volunteerism and Service Learning Support--your hub for service and community engagement!  Learn more about the project by checking out this video or viewing this website.

          • Dear World Storytelling

            Time: 7pm

            Location: Marietta Campus Student Center Ballroom

            The Dear World Storytelling event is the official closing event of the Dear World experience. This event will feature an overview of themes from the day's activities. Specific stories will be highlighted and shared as well.
